As we wrap up Mission's Focus, we wanted to encourage you to pray through ways you can apply what we walked through as a church. We had a chance to focus for just a few weeks on the least reached people of the world. As the global church, we send only about 3% of our missionaries to these people groups. And, only 1% of giving goes there. God has a heart to gather people, including these—and so many more—from every tribe, tongue, and nation. As you reflect on this heart of God and what we learned as a church, here are four ways you could apply these truths to your life. We would encourage you to choose at least one to focus on over the next month and year. Thanks for joining us in our annual Mission's Focus.
Maybe the Lord is calling you to give directly not only to financially support a missionary, but to also build a close relationship with a missionary on the front lines. Here are two options that are directly connected with Table Rock: Abbie Kircher and Mark Batluck.
“You will do well to send them on their journey in a manner worthy of God. For they have gone out for the sake of the name, accepting nothing from the Gentiles. Therefore we ought to support people like these, that we may be fellow workers for the truth.”
3 John 1:6–8
Maybe through this time the Lord has begun to stir in your heart go to the least reached. We would love to start that conversation with you. If that's a possibility for you, you don't need to know all of the details, you may just need to take the next step to see what the Lord might do.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19–20
Maybe this was the first time you set aside a specific time in your prayer life to pray for the least reached. We have linked to a resource that cues up a people group each day to pray for. This could become a regular part of your prayer life.
“And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.”
Acts 4:31
Maybe your next step is just to learn more about God's heart for the nations and missions around the world. We have linked a survey for you to share the areas in which you want to grow and to help us connect you with resources to do so.
“And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God”
Colossians 1:9–10
