Clean Water | Gospel Hope

A Week in Mexico

Our ministry has been traveling to Monterrey, Mexico the last three years to serve the community, grow in Christian community and to connect with a local church: Nucleo.

What we’ll be Doing on the Trip!

  • We will partnering with Filter of Hope and Nucleo Church in Monterrey to provide 50 homes with clean drinking water by installing custom water filters into their homes!

  • During our time in Monterrey, our team will be learning and growing by reading God’s word daily and attending church events with our friends at Nucleo!

  • Our sister-ministry Campus Outreach Monterrey and Nucleo Church will be hosting us during our entire stay in Mexico. Over the past few years, we’ve built an incredibly strong relationship with their church body and staff team.

Meet the Students

  • Aidan Jackson

Hi, I’m Aidan! I’m a senior at Boise State and I’ll be graduating this May with a degree in Business Administration and a minor in Entrepreneurship. I’m beyond excited for this mission trip because I know firsthand how life-changing it is to step out in faith and serve. This last summer, I had the opportunity to be part of a Summer Project in San Diego, and it completely changed my life. Through that experience, God deepened my faith, showed me what it means to truly live for Him, and surrounded me with a community that challenged and encouraged me. Since then, God has continued to work in my life in ways I never expected. Whether it’s through my studies, relationships, and even the day to day challenges of life! He has been teaching me to trust Him with my life. This trip is another opportunity to step out in faith, serve others, and see how God moves. I’m grateful for all the prayers and support as we prepare, and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for our team!

  • Cooper Dill

Hi, I’m Cooper Dill, a junior at Boise State. I’m super excited to return to Monterrey for the third time. My previous trips deepened my faith and gave me a greater understanding of who Jesus Christ is and the sacrifice He made for us on the cross. Returning to share the hope of the Gospel with those who may have never heard it is a huge blessing. This year, I’m especially excited to be alongside those experiencing this journey for the first time, helping them step out in faith with confidence. I’ve seen God move powerfully in my life through these trips, and I look forward to witnessing Him do the same in theirs.

  • Gracie Wohl

Hi there! I'm Gracie Wohl, a sophomore at Boise State University majoring in Integrated Media and Strategic Communications with a focus on Social Media Marketing. I grew up in Spokane, Washington, and have cherished my time in Boise, especially being part of Table Rock Church and Greek Life Bible Study. From a young age, I’ve felt a deep calling to serve, and last year, I had the life-changing opportunity to go on my first mission trip. That experience opened my eyes to God’s incredible power and grace, and I knew He was calling me to return. Now, I am beyond grateful for the chance to serve again. We’ll be installing water filters in 50 families’ homes, not just providing clean drinking water but also sharing the eternal hope and love of Jesus. I believe God has a purpose for every encounter, and I am eager to see how He works in the lives of those we serve—and in my own heart as well. Your support, whether through prayer or donations, means more than words can express. I am filled with anticipation and joy, knowing that God is going to be moving in ways beyond what we can imagine. Thank you for your support and being part of this journey with me!

  • Madison Sousa

Hi! My name is Madison Sousa, and I am a sophomore at Boise State University studying Elementary Education. Over the past year, my faith has grown in ways I never imagined, and a huge part of that growth has been because of GLBS Tuesday nights. Through this community, I have been encouraged, challenged, and strengthened in my relationship with God. When they announced the Mexico Mission Trip, I felt an undeniable calling from God to step out in faith and serve others in a new and meaningful way. After much prayer and reflection, I knew this was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. I feel incredibly blessed to be a part of this mission, and I am eager to see how God moves—not only in my life but also in the lives of my team and the people of Monterrey. This journey is more than just a trip; it’s a chance to be the hands and feet of Jesus, to share His love, and to grow in my own faith through service. I am so grateful for the opportunity to embark on this experience, and I truly cannot thank you all enough for your prayers, encouragement, and support. Your generosity makes this mission possible, and I am beyond excited for all that God has in store!

  • Mae Lunde

Hello everyone! My name is Mae Lunde, and I am a sophomore at Boise State studying Business and Economics. Last year, I was blessed with the opportunity to go on this trip for spring break, and I am beyond excited to serve in Monterrey Mexico, once again! After that trip, I got to experience the joy that comes with blessing His kingdom through service. I learned that time is valuable, and the most fulfilling way to spend it is through glorifying God. My faith grew tremendously during this one week and I felt called to step outside of my comfort zone, and be outward with what I believe. I know God is working through this team, and I cannot wait to help bless families with sharing the gospel, and clean drinking water for their homes. Any support, whether through prayer or donation, is greatly appreciated and will make a big impact on my time in Monterrey. Thank you all so much for the support on this journey!

  • Megan Schlicter

Hi, I’m Megan! I’m from Maple Valley, Washington but recently moved to Boise this past fall. I am currently a freshman at Boise State pursuing a degree in elementary education. Since being in Boise, God has provided for me in many ways including connecting me to Greek Life Bible Study and Table Rock Church. With that, He has blessed me with the amazing opportunity to go on this mission trip in Monterrey, Mexico. As a child of God I know I am called to serve others and spread His Word in order to bring others closer to Him, which is why I feel that it is so important I go to Monterrey. Growing up in a Christian family I was always taught to love God and put others before myself and on this trip I will be doing just that. In Monterrey, we plan to provide at least 50 families with clean water by installing water purifiers while also visiting a college campus where we will talk and teach students about Jesus Christ. On this trip I know God is going to change my life in so many ways and I am so grateful for any support or prayer!

  • Michael Pennestri

Hi I’m Michael Pennestri, I’m a freshman at Boise State University. I’m 18 and from Spokane WA. I love soccer, snowboarding, motocross, surfing and anything outdoors. My faith has played a huge part in shaping my life since early middle school through active involvement in my local church and small groups. I am so excited to branch out and continue my journey through this mission trip. I hope to bring others to Jesus so that He may have as amazing of an impact on their lives as He has in mine. I look forward to growing closer to God with this wonderful group of people as we see what He has in store for us on this trip. Thank you so much for your support! God bless!

  • Phillip Crust

Hello, My name is Phillip Crust. I am a sophomore at Boise State and a member of Table Rock! I am currently studying International Business. Last year, I had the privilege of going on the Mexico Missions trip, in which God really gave me a heart for the lost. This year, I am extremely honored to go back. Mexico is an extremely diverse place with lots of rich culture and people. 80% of people confess to being Christian there, but as little as 10% have actually heard the gospel. This statistic has really resonated with me because I have been blessed to know the Gospel most of my life. In Matthew 9:37, Jesus says, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” God truly has produced a bountiful harvest in Mexico, and to get to be his laborer there, even for a short while, is such a joy and honor. I am beyond thrilled to embark on this trip with my fellow peers and can’t wait to see how God changes lives!

  • Sydney McLean

Hi! My name is Sydney McLean and I’m from Spokane, Washington. I am a Freshman at Boise State majoring in Kinesiology on a Pre-Chiropractic pathway. I have really grown in my faith since coming to Boise and through my involvement in Greek Life Bible Study! I’m so excited to go on this trip and see all of the amazing ways God will work through us. On this trip to Monterrey, we will be supplying 50 families with water filters so they can easily access clean drinking water while also spreading God’s word and love to everyone we meet! This is such an amazing opportunity to grow in my faith and spread the gospel to others who have never gotten to experience it. I have never done anything like this before and I am so beyond blessed that I get the opportunity to spread God’s word and love to others! Thank you so much for all of your support and prayers!! The best is yet to come!

  • Travis Collins

Hey, I’m Travis Collins, a freshman at Boise state. I’m majoring in kinesiology and hope to one day become a physical therapist. I’m originally from Orange County, California however my family is moving up to Idaho this summer so I’m super excited but also a bit nervous. I feel the same way about going to Monterrey because this is my first time but I’m ready to see how much this trip can help me progress in my faith and love for Jesus. Being able to do it with people I share a genuine connection with makes it all the more meaningful. God has been very present in my life the past year and changed me for the better in ways I could’ve never imagined and I want other people to be able to share the same experience with others!
